Based in Pipe Creek, Texas, Conrad Striegl is an experienced national security and defense contractor who spent nearly 30 years in various roles with the United States Army. He is particularly knowledgeable in areas of domestic preparedness for weapons of mass destruction, including response management at the local, state, and federal levels. He has further experience working on joint testing and Department of Defense programs. Conrad Striegl enlisted in the US Army as a special weapons technician in 1974 and became a commissioned officer in 1977. He retired at the rank of lieutenant colonel in 2002, at which point he joined Battelle Memorial Institute as a defense contractor. He later spent 10 years as a civilian with the Department of Army, including time as team chief in areas of homeland defense.
Conrad Striegl’s interests include shooting, woodworking, and aviation. He is a member of the Bandera County Lions Club and is a former director of the Bandera Ground Water District. He protected property owners’ groundwater rights for four years in this role. In addition to his extensive experience, Mr. Striegl also holds a master of science in leadership from the Army Command and General Staff College and an undergraduate degree from Southwest Texas State.
